Canada-Alberta Job Grant

The Canada-Alberta Job Grant (CAJG) is a program intended to help employers invest in training for their current and future employees.

The employer applies for this grant on behalf of their present or future intended employees to aid in covering the costs of training from eligible programs.

Recent changes to the Canada-Alberta Job Grant have opened up new incentives worth noting:

  • Employers can receive up to two-thirds of the cost of training covered for eligible current employees, up to $10,000 per trainee to a maximum of $300,000 per year, per organization.

  • Full training costs may be reimbursed when hiring and training eligible unemployed Albertans, up to $15,000 per trainee.

  • Sole proprietors can now apply to CAJG to train their employees.

  • Travel assistance will allow more businesses outside Edmonton and Calgary, to train their employees.
